Everyone knows the trip to Southport or West Kirby for the beach, but with a Day Saver ticket there are dozens of stations on both lines that get completely overlooked.

What is your favourite quiet day out that starts within a short walk of a Merseyrail platform?

Hall Road for the walk along the coastal path down into Crosby. Everyone bunches up at Waterloo station to see the Iron Men, but getting off at Hall Road gives you the dunes to yourself and you walk south with the tide and the wind behind you.
