What is the most memorable quick conversation you have had with a stranger in Liverpool?

Everyone talks about how friendly the city is, but it is usually the unexpected, funny five-second chats with absolute strangers that stick in your head.

At a bus stop on Queen Square, in a queue at the butcher, or someone making a dry comment in the rain. What is one that made your day?

Waiting for the 82 on Hanover Street in sideways drizzle. A bloke next to me looked up at the sky, looked at his phone, turned to me completely deadpan and said: ‘Well, at least it’s not snowing.’ Then his bus arrived and he vanished. Classic Liverpool optimism.
